Silent Observer

The rain washed the desert, cooling and cleaning.
A rainbow appeared, giving reality a whole new meaning.

Life and happiness flourished,
As love gently nourished.

But, just as the flowers began to bloom,
They were struck by unimaginable doom.

He watched as it crashed down,
Devastating everything for miles around.

The flowers were incinerated,
And life was obliterated.

The rainbow was obscured by dust,
As love succumbed to lust.

He watched, silently, and a little sad,
Then walked away, thinking “Too bad!”
