The Rise of the Phoenix

Rubble and ashes, smouldering embers and glowing cinders,
From a single spark, a tiny match, an insignificant tinder.
A slow breeze picks up, scattering the ash, dispersing the smoke.
An unidentifiable fragrance, the air lightens, no longer does it choke.

Something stirs, something glows, something starts to form.
Shapes flow together like quicksilver, rivulets of molten metal.
A hint of a plume, an outline of a tail, colours shift.
A strong glow, a brilliant flash of light, a blinding radiance!

Incredible power, stands up proud and tall,
Strength and beauty unparalleled, rises from its fall.
Wings appear, rising up in glorious magnificence,
The epitome of beauty, the Heavens pale to insignificance!

The Universe freezes in awe,
Time stands still in rapture,
Reality bows in respect,
Gods kneel in homage,
Behold! The Phoenix rises again!
