Turning Point

He sat in front of the computer screen,
And thought of all he had been.
The way he had written page after page,
In a wild frenzy, almost in a rage.
He worked late almost every night,
And threw people around him into a fright.
He talked incisively and arrogantly every day,
And most people would respectfully stay out of his way.
He had great knowledge of almost everything
And his status rose as would a powerful king
He would not be tempted by any lure
And his opinion was always true and sure
Then, he just suddenly sank low,
Where he was certain, now he just didn’t know.
Where earlier, he worked at a furious pace,
Now, he just sat around and would simply laze.
His mind, once crazy, was now just blocked
And everyone around him was shocked
Yet, the problem was understood by a very few
He just needed something new
That’s when she came into his life and turned him around
All his lost energy and enthusiasm was suddenly found
And as his reputation again slowly grew
Almost everybody instinctively knew
She had saved his life,
His darling, beloved wife!
