Sorry

How close we were together, I never knew,
And then we went far, far apart,
I realized then, that I really loved you,
I knew also, that I loved you from the start.

It was a thin golden line that held us together,
Oh so fragile, I found out too late,
That single cut, might break it forever.
But hopefully, that is not written in my fate.

I hope you understand, and to God I pray,
That you forgive me for my stupid mistake,
Because only you can understand the way,
I feel sorry with every breath that I take.
